Idku: Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum, conducted an inspection tour of the Idku LNG complex on the Mediterranean coast. The minister was accompanied by officials from the Ministry and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), as well as officials from Shell and Petronas, the complex’s partners.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the tour, the Minister emphasized that the Idku complex is one of the cornerstones of Egypt’s oil and gas infrastructure, enhancing Egypt’s role as a regional hub for energy trading and receiving.

He explained that the complex represents a successful model for maximizing the added value of assets and infrastructure, in line with the second axis of the Ministry’s work strategy, which aims to maximize the benefit from existing infrastructure and achieve maximum economic returns for Egypt and its partners.
