Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla opened Saturday 17/09/2022 a number of development projects in Qalyubia’s Mostorod region, one of the key areas serving Greater Cairo’s energy needs.

The area has been undergoing continuous development to boost its refining, marketing, and distributing capabilities.

Accompanied by Governor of Qalyubia Abdel Hamid Al-Haggan, the minister opened a project to rehabilitate, improve and expand Ismailia Canal Road, its corniche, and walkway, according to a statement by the ministry.

The project also involved securing and improving the efficiency of the road network around the region’s oil facilities, the ministry added, noting that the project was funded by the oil companies located in the region.

Molla also opened a zero gas flare project and laid down the foundation stone for a new project to expand Cairo Oil Refining Company (CORC), the statement says.

He also inaugurated a warehouse affiliated to Co-operation Petroleum Co., a subsidiary of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), after it underwent certain improvements to elevate its operational efficiency.
