CAIRO: The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Karim Badawi, recently held discussions with Khaled Hashem, the President of Honeywell for the Middle East and Africa region, focusing on advancing sustainable aviation fuel production in Egypt.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Hashem revealed that Honeywell, in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), has completed a feasibility study for this innovative project. The discussions between Hashem and Minister Badawi aimed at determining the next steps in bringing this project to fruition.
During the meeting, Hashem highlighted Egypt’s potential to become the first country in the Middle East and Africa to produce sustainable aviation fuel. The conversation also explored opportunities to implement several joint initiatives, particularly in the areas of green fuel production and emission reduction.
