Petroleum Minister Engages with Aton Resources Delegation on Exploration Efforts.


Cairo: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi recently held talks with a delegation from Aton Resources, led by CEO Tonno Vahk. The discussions focused on the company’s exploration activities in the Abu Marawat concession area, which is situated in the Eastern Desert and part of the Arabian-Nubian Shield.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Badawi emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to supporting Aton Resources in implementing its projects. He acknowledged the company’s adherence to project timelines and its intention to increase investments in Egypt. Vahk provided insights into the company’s operations in the Abu Marawat region, highlighting the commercial discoveries of Hamama and West Rodruin and reaffirming Aton’s dedication to its projects in Egypt.

Additionally, Vahk revealed plans to establish a plant for gold extraction and processing, utilizing advanced, environmentally friendly technologies. This initiative aims to maximize the extraction rate and exploit all associate
d minerals without wastage. The CEO also expressed the company’s ambition to transform the mine into a model of international excellence and success.
