PCBS report shows decline in registered exports and imports of goods in July

RAMALLAH: A report by Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) showed a decline in Registered Exports and Imports of Goods in July, 2024, compared to July, 2023.

The report showed that exports decreased in July, 2024 by 3% compared to July, 2023 and reached USD 137 Million.

Meanwhile, exports to Israel decreased in July, 2024 by 4% compared to July, 2023 and it represented 91% of total exports in July, 2024.

On the other hand, exports to other countries increased by 6% during the same period compared to July, 2023.

Additionally, imports decreased in July, 2024 by 11% compared to July, 2023 and reached USD 621.2 Million.

According to the report, imports from Israel decreased by 14% in July, 2024 compared to July, 2023 and it represented 56% of total imports in July, 2024.

At the same time, imports from other countries decreased by 7% compared to July, 2023.

The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed a decrease in trade deficit by 13% in July, 2024 compare
d to July, 2023 and reached USD 484.2 Million, PCBS said.

It is worth mentioning that the above figures are currently available only at the aggregate level, while the detailed data will be provided in the fourth quarter of next year, the report concluded.
