Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch said, “What is happening in Gaza is a true and unparalleled humanitarian tragedy for more than 2.3 million people living in unbearable conditions.”
During the Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza Conference, Akhannouch said military actions “will not bring peace or stability to the region,” adding that continuing to manage the conflict in Palestine without a reasonable horizon for a solution would not bring sustainable security.
He added, “Aid to save lives in Palestine should not be hostage to politics and conflicts,” calling for urgent action to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
He condemned attempts of forced displacement and targeting of civilians, reiterating Morocco’s support for initiatives and proposals aimed at a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the delivery of humanitarian aid and the protection of civilians.
Saudi Minister of State and National Security Advisor Musaed Aiban urged collective action to stop the Israeli war on Gaza and deliver aid across
the embattled enclave.
He called for an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza to deliver sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid and for the displaced to return to their homes.
Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif Zayani urged collective international action to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, expressing support for a ceasefire in Gaza and the US initiative.
Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Yahya said Kuwait “will not hesitate to provide a helping hand to the Palestinian people.”
Algerian Health Minister Abdelhak Sayhi said Algeries seeks to activate UN resolutions for a ceasefire, adopt methods and mechanisms for an immediate ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
Sayhi called for a “just and comprehensive” solution to the Palestinian issue, adding that Algeria had presented resolutions in the UN Security Council for a ceasefire, facilitating aid and pushing for respect for international resolutions.
UK Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, the United Nati
ons and the Commonwealth, Tariq Ahmed, said the UK is helping Jordan provide humanitarian aid and sending it to Gaza.
Ahmed announced during the conference that the UK is adding £1 million to medical supplies for Gaza.
The Dutch Foreign Minister, Hanke Bruins Sloot, said the Netherlands had increased its support by pound 13 million to be distributed to humanitarian organisations in the Gaza Strip, including UNRWA.
The Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Presidency, Moulay Ould Mohamed, called for solidarity with Gaza and an end to the “genocide” against its people, demanding a ceasefire, the return of the displaced to their homes and reconstruction.
The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said, “Any future in the Gaza Strip is necessarily linked to the future of the Palestinian cause,” noting that the absence of serious settlement efforts for the Palestinian question led to an explosion of the situation.
He added that undermining the United Nations Relief and Works Agency
for Palestinians (UNRWA) is underway on the ground through a systematic Israeli political plan.
