Madrid: House of Representatives Speaker Hanafi el Gebali congratulated house deputy Mohamed Abul Einean for winning the chairmanship of the parliamentary assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PAUfM).

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a session of the parliamentary assembly of the union in Spain, Abul Einean was unanimously elected as speaker of PAUfM. This marks the first time in 15 years that Egypt has chaired the parliamentary assembly.

Gebali remarked that holding such a position reflects Egypt’s role and status on the international stage. He also noted the appreciation for Egyptian parliamentary diplomacy at international parliamentary forums.

He expressed his wishes for Abul Einean’s success in his new role.
