The House of Representatives’ constitutional and legislative affairs committee has decided to form a subcommittee bringing together representatives of the bodies concerned, experts of specialists to review and redraft the Criminal Procedure Code.
During its session on Sunday, the committee approved in principle a government bill amending certain provisions of the Egyptian Criminal Procedure Code (356 out 461 articles) after excluding the articles revoked by subsequent legislation.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the House of Representatives’ constitutional and legislative affairs committee Ibrahim El Heneidy has emphasized the significant importance of the draft law, given its direct relevance to citizens’ rights and freedoms.
