Palestinian shot, injured by an Israeli settler south of Nablus

A Palestinian was shot and injured by an Israeli settler while grazing his sheep this afternoon in the village of Madama, to the south of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources. Ghassan Daghlas, a local Palestinian activist, said an Israeli settler who works as a security guard in the colonial Israeli settlement of Yitzhar, illegally built on Palestinian lands near the village, opened gunfire at Ma’moun Nassar, a local Palestinian resident, and injured him in his foot while he was grazing sheep in the village. Nassar was rushed to Rafidia Public Hospital in the nearby city of Nablus for medical treatment. Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is a routine practice under Israel’s colonial regime in the occupied West Bank, and is rarely prosecuted by the occupying authorities.
