A Palestinian physician identified as Shamekh Kamal Abu al-Rub, 25, was shot and killed this morning and two others were injured during an Israeli occupation army raid of the town of Qabatiya, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, according to the director of Al Razi Hospital in Jenin Fawaz Hamad.
Local sources told WAFA that soldiers raided the town and surrounded a building near the town’s school for girls calling on those inside to come out.
In the process, the soldiers opened fire at residents of the building, killing the physician and injuring two others, including Abu al-Rub’s brother, Mohammad.
WAFA correspondent said Abu al-Rub, son of the acting governor of Jenin Kamal Abu al-Rub, was shot by live bullets in the abdomen while he and his brother were leaving the surrounded building, which led to his death immediately, while his brother was wounded by live bullets in the leg. Another youth was shot in the thigh, apparently during confrontations that erupted in the town following the raid.
T
he army later ended its siege of the building and raid and left the town after arresting three people, according to the sources.
