RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said today that its Freedoms Committee monitored and documented the occupation’s closure of eight media printing presses.

It said that forces closed eight media printing presses, and seized and destroyed their equipment during incursions in the governorates of Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Al-Bireh, since the 7th of October.

Head of the freedoms committee, Mohammed al-Laham, said in a statement that the occupation uses a bandit policy to destroy all media property, steal it, and cause grave damage to it.

He noted that the occupation forces refused to hand over any books or documents they seized from the printing presses, in clear legislation for theft without even showing a warrant from an occupying court.

Al-Laham estimated the value of the losses at about one million US dollars.
