JERUSALEM: The Israeli occupation authorities today forced a Palestinian resident of the town of Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem, to demolish two floors in his four-storey building, according to the owner, Khaled al-Hroub.
The owner said that he submitted an appeal to Israeli courts against the decision to demolish the two floors, most recently to the Supreme Court, but to no avail. The court ordered the owner to self-demolish two floors in the building.
Each floor has an area of 150 square meters and is designated to be divided into four apartments.
The owner demolished 1000 square meters that were set for eight apartments for his children.
According to the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities demolished 318 structures and issued demolition orders against 359 others in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, during the first half of 2024.
