JERUSALEM: The Israeli occupation authorities today forced a Palestinian man self-demolish his house in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The occupation authorities forced citizen Khalil Kabaja to demolish his house in the town of Al-Tur, east of Jerusalem, which consists of two floors and is under construction. Otherwise, they will demolish it and force him to pay the demolition costs.

Kabaja pointed out that the occupation stormed the town, closed the surroundings of the house, and prevented journalists and citizens from reaching the area.

The Jerusalem Governorate said in its report last year that the occupation authorities carried out 292 demolition operations in the Jerusalem Governorate, including 73 facilities whose owners were forced to demolish them.

For its part, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission clarified that the occupation authorities demolished 318 facilities in the occupied West Bank during the first half of 2024, and distributed notices to demolish 359 other facilities, and uproo
ted about 10,000 trees.
