Rabat – Palestinian Information Minister Ahmed Assaf led a delegation to Rabat to inquire on the efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) in supporting Palestinian resilience in the Holy City of Jerusalem (Al-Quds).
The visit highlighted Morocco’s role, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in promoting the welfare of Palestinians in the city. BMAQ head chief Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui provided an overview of the various projects carried out by the agency in Al-Quds. These efforts focus on aiding children, women, and educational institutions, as well as establishing the Moroccan Cultural Center in the city to preserve its historical and cultural identity.
Minister Assaf expressed deep gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI for his commitment, emphasizing that Morocco’s contributions extend beyond financial assistance to include political and diplomatic support. “We were informed of the extensive efforts made by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency in supporting t
he people of Al-Quds, helping to strengthen their resilience during these challenging times,” Assaf said.
Assaf also underscored the Palestinian people’s appreciation for the support they receive amid difficult circumstances.
Cherkaoui echoed these sentiments, noting that the visit was an opportunity to highlight the vital work being done by the agency under HM King Mohammed VI’s leadership. He stressed that the economic and social situation in Al-Quds remains precarious and requires continued efforts. Morocco, he pointed out, provides full financial backing for BMAQ, which remains committed to improving the lives of Palestinians in the Holy City.
This visit further strengthens the ties between Palestine and Morocco, particularly in their shared commitment to preserving the identity and resilience of the Palestinian people in Al-Quds.
