New York: The number of Palestinian children killed by live ammunition fired by the Israeli occupying forces has almost tripled since October 7, compared to the previous ten months (115 compared to 39), the United Nations said on Wednesday.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in its report that the number of Palestinian children injured by live ammunition fired by Israeli forces has doubled since October 7 compared to the previous ten months (1,411 compared to 615).

The report stated that between October 7, 2023 and August 12, 2024, 594 Palestinians were martyred in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in addition to two who died from wounds sustained prior to October 7.

Of these, 577 were martyred by Israeli occupation forces, 10 by Israeli settlers, and 7 are still unknown, whether the perpetrators were Israeli forces or settlers, the report said, adding that there were more than 100 Palestinian bodies withheld by Israeli forces .
