The Palestine Islamic Bank organized an awareness-raising seminar on Islamic financing formulas and banking services, in the context of the activities held by the Bank within its strategic sponsorship of the 2023 Hebron Grape Days Festival and in enhancement of its efforts to raise awareness of banking services in general and Islamic banking in particular.
The symposium, which was held at the headquarters of the Charitable Sharia Society in the Old City of Hebron, was opened in the presence of a crowd of citizens and merchants and with the participation of a member of the Sharia Supervisory Board of the Palestine Islamic Bank, Dr. Ayman Joelis, Director of the South Region, Nizar Bali, and a number of directors of the bank’s departments and branches.
Dr. explained. Ayman Joelis briefed the audience on the nature of the tasks of the Sharia Supervisory Board at the bank and the role it plays to ensure the direction of the bank’s business and activities and ensure their compliance with the provisions and controls of Islamic Sharia in addition to the internationally approved references in the field of Islamic banking. He answered the audience’s inquiries regarding the Sharia aspects of financial transactions and their details.
Joelis emphasized the qualitative shift witnessed by Islamic banking in Palestine in general and at the level of the Palestine Islamic Bank in particular, indicating that it has now kept pace with the rapid developments in this field at the regional and global levels.
In turn, Director of the Marketing and Public Relations Department, Ibrahim Salman, gave a presentation about the bank’s electronic services, the World Mastercard and Platinum Mastercard cards that are compatible with Islamic Sharia, and the services and privileges they provide to customers, in addition to reviewing the bank’s other most prominent products and services.
In his comment on this dialogue symposium, the Director General of the Palestine Islamic Bank, Dr. Imad Al-Saadi: It comes within the framework of the bank’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of Islamic banking, explaining that awareness is considered a basis for enhancing the public’s orientation towards Islamic banking services and explaining its advantages and the foundations on which it is based.
Al-Saadi stressed that these awareness efforts come in parallel with the bank’s development of many new Islamic banking services and products that meet customers’ aspirations and needs.
