Orange Jordan holds 1st data science career fair

Orange Jordan on Saturday held the first career fair for graduates of the Data Science Academy, which is being implemented in partnership with Optimiza, with the support of the European Union. The job fair was organized under the auspices of Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh within the framework of the Innovation Space project, a three-year program being implemented with the support of the EU through the Innovation Program for Enterprise Growth and Job Opportunities “Ibtikar Jordan” for digital empowerment and promoting a culture of innovation at scale, Orange Jordan said in a statement. The fair, it said, provided a link for the academy’s graduates of its first and second batches, to connect directly with companies, with the participation of more than 25 companies from the Information Technology and financial sectors, representatives of Orange Jordan, as well as Optimiza, a regional systems integration and digital transformation solutions provider, Orange’s partner in the Data Science Academy’s training program. The career expo is an extension of the academy’s vision, which aims to bridge the gap between academic education and the labor market through training qualified data experts in extracting and analyzing big data, algorithms and related systems, as well as key artificial intelligence skills in light of the needs of local and global market, which are witnessing a boom in data volume and a growing need for competencies in data-driven fields, it said. The academy provides intensive training for graduates of the faculties of science, computer and engineering, while ensuring access to the largest possible number of participants as it offers its program via the Internet, said the statement. The Data Science Academy is one of Orange’s free programs that continues to develop young people’s skills in the required digital fields to enhance their career and entrepreneurial opportunities. These programs contributed to the empowerment of more than 500 young men and women in various governorates of the Kingdom, it added. “We were keen to organize the first data science career fair as an opportunity for students and institutions to communicate effectively with each other to facilitate the recruitment process in line with the Data Science Academy’s goal of qualifying specialized experts to meet the needs of the local and regional labor market,” Orange Jordan stated.
