Hebron – Together – The Palestinian Minister of Culture, Dr. Imad Hamdan participated in a workshop exploring creators in the visual arts for the year 2024, where he stressed the importance of these events, cultural activities, and creative works in continuation of the march of the martyrs and the wounded and the national march, stressing that this workshop and others like it are a title for creators and innovators, which come in difficult circumstances that the Palestinian nation is experiencing, and pointed out The Palestinian Ministry of Culture, through the Department of Cultural Industries, supports these distinctive activities, which will be a starting point for creative and talented people towards a prosperous future.
This came during the opening of the workshop exploring creators in the visual arts for the year 2024 at the Palestinian Society for Palestinian Child Culture and Arts (Palestinian Child Arts Center), which was organized by the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin) in partnership with the P
alestinian Ministry of Culture – Cultural Fund and with support from the Norwegian government.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Director General of the Palestinian Cultural Fund, Youssef Al-Tarturi, the Director of the Office of the Ministry of Culture in the Hebron Governorate, Rashad Abu Hamid, members of the Advisory Council of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, the administrative body of the Palestinian Children’s Arts Center, and members of the administrative body of the Fine Arts Forum (Hanin), represented by the association’s president, Abdel Hamid Al-Sous, and the secretary of the Palestinian Cultural Fund. The association’s secretary, Amani Al-Fakhouri, and the association’s treasurer, A. Jamila Dovsh and Safaa Al-Haymouni.
Minister Hamdan also thanked the organizers of this workshop, the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin), and praised the role of the Palestinian Society for Children’s Culture and Arts (the Palestinian Children’s Arts Center) in hosting the workshop in this cultural edif
ice.
At the beginning of the meeting, Amani Al-Fakhouri, Secretary of the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin), congratulated Minister Hamdan on assuming his new position as Minister of Palestinian Culture, and expressed, on behalf of all participants, their happiness in his participation in the opening of the workshop.
Abdul Hamid Al-Sous, President of the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin), presented an introduction to the association and its most important cultural activities and exhibitions that it organises, the most prominent of which were various art exhibitions, the most recent of which was a personal exhibition by the artist Heba Shanan in the hall of the Dora Martyrs Cultural Center. The association also organized the first Creative Art Forum in 2022 and the second in 2023. Which included 100 artists from inside the country and a similar number of artists from Hebron Governorate, as well as organizing dozens of electronic exhibitions for creative artists during the Corona pandemic. These exhibitio
ns included drawings by Arab and international artists, in addition to organizing study days for artists, and the last meeting was for the Jerusalemite artist Talib Al-Dweik. He also introduced the workshop and its objectives, and thanked all the supporters for making this workshop a success.
Nizar Bali, Treasurer of the Palestinian Society for Children’s Culture and Arts (Palestinian Children’s Arts Center), praised the ongoing partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Culture to advance the Palestinian cultural scene and welcomed future cooperation to continue supporting young Palestinian talents.
Then Hamdan, the Minister of Culture, accompanied by the distinguished guests, toured the artistic and creative works of the participants in the workshop. They expressed their admiration for the young talents and predicted for them a bright and creative future.
It is worth noting that the workshop was organized by the Fine Arts Forum Association (Hanin) in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Culture
– the Cultural Fund and with the support of the Norwegian government, in the hall of the Palestinian Society for Children’s Culture and Arts (Palestinian Children’s Arts Center). The artist Alaa Abu Heikal and the artist Talib Al Dweik participated in the training today.
