JENIN: Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank tonight, provoking confrontations with local residents as army embarked on destroying the west entrance to the city using a D9 bulldozer.
Palestinian security sources reported that a convoy of Israeli military vehicles, including armored personnel carriers and bulldozers, stormed the city from its northern and western main entrances.
The forces reportedly stormed multiple neighborhoods of the city, leading to intense confrontations at many locations, including the outskirts of the adjacent Jenin refugee camp and the vicinity of Jenin Governmental Hospital, where an ambulance was stopped and thoroughly searched by the Israeli forces.
The incursion also extended to the Al-Amal Hospital. Additionally, the Israeli troops deployed a D9 bulldozer to excavate Haifa Street on the western entrance of the city, with significant reinforcements backing the offensive.
The city has been subject to almost daily military raids o
ver the past few months, with the occupying Israeli army storming the city and its refugee camp and often resulting in confrontations and ensuing casualties among the local civilian population.
