Occupation forces ransack mosque, stores in northern West Bank village

TULKARM: Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening ransacked a mosque and stores in the Ar-Ras village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm, according to local sources.

They said that the occupation forces barged their way into the village, where they muscled inside a mosque along with a number of houses and stores, conducted thorough searches and seized the recordings of surveillance cameras.

Meanwhile, the occupation forces erected a checkpoint at the road linking the Ar-Ras village to Jabara, stopping Palestinian registered vehicles and inspecting passengers’ identity cards.

here was no immediate information on any detention cases.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the State of Palestine, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever t
he military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
