Israeli occupation forces delivered orders this evening to two Palestinian landlords in the town of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, demanding them to stop the construction of their two homes in the town, according to local sources.
Ahmed Salah, a local activist, told WAFA that an Israeli military unit broke into the Um Rukba area on the outskirts of the town and handed orders to halt construction in homes owned by two local Palestinian residents, Mohammed Numan Salah and Abdullah Salah. The orders were justified on the grounds of lacking proper Israeli construction permits.
This area of the village has been facing a wave of colonization, marked by house demolitions and the issuance of demolition notices for other homes. Additionally, the area has been subjected to isolation through the closure of its main northern entrance leading to the town center.
The residents affected by the stop-construction orders now face the looming threat of potential demolitions of their homes by the Israeli occupation.
