Occupancy rates for hotels of all categories during the current weekend recorded 68 per cent in Aqaba, 66 per cent in the Dead Sea, 58 per cent in Amman, and 28 per cent in Petra, an official said Thursday. Vice-President of the Jordan Hotels Association (JHA) Hussein Halalat told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that occupancy rates in Aqaba’s five-star hotels reached 90 per cent, the Dead Sea area 80 per cent, Amman 65 per cent and 48 per cent in Petra. Halalat said that four and three-star hotels had an occupancy rate of 58 and 57 per cent respectively in Aqaba, 60 and 50 per cent respectively in Amman, 21 and 16 per cent respectively in Petra, while three-star hotels had an occupancy rate of 57 per cent in the Dead Sea area.
