The Egyptian National Seismic Network (ENSN), an affiliate to the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), recorded on Monday an earthquake in Greece, about 506 kilometers north of Matrouh, measuring a magnitude of 5.8 on Richter scale.
Head of the NRIAG Gad El Qadi said in a statement that the tremor occurred at 1:24 am, Cairo local time.
The earthquake was felt in some Delta cities and Greater Cairo.
No casualties or material damage were reported, he said.
