NOC Vice President visits UAE police support team participating in Paris Olympic Games security plan


PARIS: Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), and Head of the UAE Delegation to the Olympic Games Paris 2024, commended the efforts being made by the UAE police support team, which sent by the Ministry of Interior to participate in the Paris Games comprehensive security plan.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid stressed the importance of the participation of the UAE support team in this international sporting event to support the police forces in the French Republic and other international teams to provide protection for stadiums and sports facilities, and to secure the sites where teams and fans gather at the Olympics.

He said this participation underscores the high level of efficiency and professionalism enjoyed by the police personnel in the UAE under the patronage of Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who is always keen to provide all the expertise and factors of training and excellence to the police
personnel, and to raise their skills to international levels.

This came during Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid’s visit to the team members at their headquarters in Paris, in the presence of Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, Hind Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the French Republic, Faris Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee, and Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director-General of the General Authority of Sports.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid exchanged conversations with the team members, and was briefed on their efforts in securing the global sporting event, stressing that this participation reflects the depth of bilateral cooperation and distinguished relations between the two friendly countries, the UAE and France.

Addressing the team, he said, “We appreciate your efforts to secure the Olympics, and we have great confidence in your ability to achieve complete security for sports teams and fans, within the scope of your duties. We also confirm that your selection for these tasks comes due to your exp
ertise and excellent police skills which were acknowledged internationally.”

The UAE police support team, dispatched by the Ministry of Interior, had begun its mission to secure the Paris Olympic Games within the framework of joint international cooperation with the French police forces.

The team members underwent intensive training before efficiently undertaking their duties within the roles assigned to them to secure the global event
