KHAN YUNIS: The Palestinian Red Crescent announced today that no more surgeries are being conducted in its Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, as a result of the depletion of the oxygen supply at the hospital. This is attributed to the continuing blockade imposed by Israeli forces on the hospital for over a week.

In a press statement, the Red Crescent highlighted the dangers posed by the depletion of oxygen, emphasizing the inability of medical teams to perform surgical procedures due to this critical shortage.

Earlier reports from the society indicated the persistence of Israeli airstrikes and gunfire in the vicinity of Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, as the city grapples with an ongoing Israeli ground invasion for over one month.

Last Thursday, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned of the potential loss of lives for thousands of patients in southern Gaza if key medical facilities cease operations due to the deterioration of emergency medical care and the depletion of es
sential medications.

Since last Monday, the Israeli military has been conducting a series of intensive aerial and artillery bombardments on Khan Yunis, targeting hospitals in the region. There has also been a ground advance of military vehicles in the southern and western areas of the city, prompting thousands of Palestinians to evacuate.

It is noteworthy that out of the 36 hospitals in Gaza, 14 are currently operating only partially, with nine in the south and six in the north.
