No damages reported in Jordan’s Free Zones following recent floods

The Jordanian Free Zones have emerged unscathed from recent floods that swept through the region on Monday, as no losses or damages occurred in Zarqa and the airport, according to Director General of Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZ), Abdul Hameed Gharaibeh.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Tuesday, Gharaibeh indicated that the water canal, which was established last year, successfully absorbed the entirety of the floodwaters, safeguarding the surrounding areas.

“Despite the heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in Zarqa and the airport regions, the well-prepared infrastructure and effective flood management measures prevented any significant damage,” he said, highlighting the importance of the deployment of appropriate heavy equipment and fast water pumps to mitigate the effects of the floods.
