The truce reached yesterday for a pause in the Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip and the killing of eight Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli army gunfire and missiles were highlighted on the front page of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today.
‘Intensive Israeli air strikes before the truce,’ said the main front-page story headline in al-Quds daily.
It said President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership welcomed the truce deal and gave details about the deal regarding how many and who will be exchanged.
It also said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is going to visit Israel and the West Bank early next week.
‘The truce goes into effect today after another bloody day in the Gaza Strip,’ said al-Ayyam daily in its main front-page story headline.
It gave the details of the truce agreement and said it calls for the release of 30 prisoners and 10 captives today.
It also said the head of the Israeli Mossad is going to visit Qatar to complete the exchange deal, while the
fascist Israeli cabinet minister Itamar Ben Gvir opposed the deal.
The third daily, al-Hayat al-Jadida, said six Palestinians were killed by an Israeli missile in Tulkarm, a seventh killed in Azzoun village near Qalqilya, and another in Burin, near Nablus.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida printed a picture on the top half of its front page of dozens of bodies being prepared to be buried in mass graves in the Gaza Strip and wrote on top of the picture: ‘This is happening in the 21st century.’
Al-Hayat al-Jadida also quoted presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh saying that escalation in the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank will not bring security and stability to anyone.
It also quoted Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh saying the Israeli decision to deduct the money allocated to Gaza from the clearance funds aims to separate the West Bank from the Gaza Strip.
