The three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today highlighted on their front page the rescue efforts in the earthquake-stricken Morocco.

‘Rescue men are racing against time to reach survivals from the destructive earthquake in Morocco,’ said the main front-page story headline in al-Hayat al-Jadida daily.

‘Morocco: Intensifying the search for survivors as the death toll in the Marrakesh quake rises to 2122,’ said the main headline in al-Ayyam daily.

The third Palestinian Arabic daily, al-Quds, said in its main front-page story headline: ‘A surge in the number of victims from the destructive earthquake in Morocco to 2122 and 2421 wounded.’

The three dailies also reported on the Palestinian and international efforts to provide assistance to Morocco.

In other news, the three dailies reported on the funeral of 16-year-old Milad Raii, who was shot dead the day before yesterday by Israeli soldiers in Arroub refugee camp, near Hebron, and said that confrontations broke out between the Palestinians and Israeli soldiers following the funeral during which several were shot and injured.

Al-Quds daily said that as the Jewish holidays approach, there is concern that settlers and Jewish fanatics will try to change the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

It reported on the Israeli infrastructure work in occupied East Jerusalem intended to link its illegal settlements with a railroad, tunnels and bridges.

Al-Ayyam daily also said that the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem confirmed what Peace Now said that there is an initial decision to build a new settlement with 3,500 housing units and 1300 hotel rooms south of occupied Jerusalem.

It said the Israeli mayor of West Jerusalem vowed to build thousands of housing units in Givat Hamatos settlement, south of Jerusalem.

It said the Israeli premier postponed the restrictions planned to be imposed against the Palestinian prisoners by the fascist and racist cabinet minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the secretary-general of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Hussein Al-Sheikh, and Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed efforts to stop the deterioration in the occupied Palestinian territories.

It also said the ‘terrorists’ in Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon backed down and asked for a ceasefire as a new breach of the ceasefire targeted Lebanese soldiers.
