Today, a new batch of Qatari aid comprising 17.3 tons of medical supplies and medicines, arrived at Rafic Hariri International Airport on board a third plane as part of the air bridge that was inaugurated by the Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lulwa bint Rashid Al-Khater.

Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Firas Abiad, received the aid, in the presence of the Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Caretaker Economy Minister Amin Salam, and a delegation from the Qatar Development Fund.

Minister Abiad praised in a statement the Qatari support that Lebanon is receiving, stressing that it “covers a large part of the needs that help the health sector face the burdens of this serious and difficult stage in Lebanon’s history.”

In turn, the Qatari ambassador announced that “more than 50 tons of medical and relief aid have been delivered so far,” stressing “Qatar’s permanent support for Lebanon.”
