Head of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsy said Saturday 21/05/2022 the council, in its capacity as a national mechanism concerned with improving the conditions of women in Egypt, will study challenges facing women as a result of the climate change and make use of the expertise of world countries in that field.
Morsy’s statements came during her participation in a meeting of a group of development partners addressing the theme of “gender equality and climate change” hosted by the European Union ambassador to Egypt, Christian Berger.
The event was attended by Dutch Ambassador in Cairo Han-Maurits Schaapveld, UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova, representative of UN gender equality and women’s human rights in Egypt as well as foreign diplomats Christine Arab.
Morsy said that Egypt is keen on empowering women in all fields to face national and community challenges.
