NCW: Spanish-Egyptian Tourism Congress Contributed to Promoting Cooperation


Cairo: The International Spanish-Egyptian Congress for Tourism, Hospitality, and Heritage (ISECT) has played a significant role in enhancing cooperation between Spain and Egypt in tourism and cultural exchanges, according to Ambassador Wafaa Bassim. Bassim, who is a member of the National Council on Women (NCW) and serves as the rapporteur for its foreign affairs committee, highlighted these contributions during her statements to Nile News satellite channel.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the congress was organized by the Sinai High Institute for Tourism and Hotels, in collaboration with Spain’s Complutense University of Madrid. Ambassador Bassim emphasized the global importance of tourism as a vital income resource and acknowledged Spain’s leadership in European tourism, suggesting it serves as an exemplary model in this sector.

The second edition of the ISECT, which took place in Cairo from February 4 to February 6, further solidified the collaborative efforts between the two nations, foste
ring a greater understanding and partnership in tourism and cultural heritage.
