New York: National Council of Women (NCW) President Amal Ammar will lead Egypt’s delegation to the United Nations 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), scheduled to take place from March 10-21. This session marks the 30th anniversary of the 1995 World Conference on Women (‘Beijing +30’).
According to State Information Service Egypt, Ammar is set to deliver Egypt’s speech during the opening session, where she will review national efforts to support women’s empowerment and promote their rights across social, economic, and political spheres.
The Egyptian delegation is also expected to participate in various sessions and events on the sidelines of the main session. These discussions will focus on achieving gender equality and ensuring women’s empowerment on a global scale, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is recognized as the world’s leading intergovernmental body dedicated exclusively to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women.
