NCEMA announces end of cyclone ‘Asna’ in Arabian Sea


ABU DHABI: The Joint Weather and Tropical Assessment Team has announced the end of cyclone ‘Asna’ in the Arabian Sea, which had no direct impact on the country.

To ensure public safety, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) closely monitored the cyclone and its potential impact on the country. They held meetings with the Joint Weather and Tropical Assessment Team to discuss all possible scenarios and preventive measures after studying and evaluating the situation in areas potentially affected, considering the severity of the impacts.’

The NCM confirmed the end of the weather event and that it had weakened into a low-pressure area, leading to a gradual improvement in sea conditions and confirming that the threat had passed.

These efforts are part of the national preparedness and readiness plans aimed at promptly responding to various weather conditions and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
