Red Sea: A Navy unit operating in the range of the Southern Fleet in the Red Sea base has thwarted an attempt to smuggle quantities of narcotic substances. The unit, while conducting routine operations within its zone of tasks, successfully identified and seized two feluccas involved in smuggling narcotic substances.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the operation resulted in the confiscation of approximately 34,750 bundles of hash and 365 rolls of dry hydro narcotic. The seized drugs and those involved in the smuggling attempt were handed over to the authorities concerned for further legal action.
The operation came in accordance with the directives of the Armed Forces’ General Command to intensify efforts for securing and protecting the country’s borders in all strategic directions.
