National Team Set for Decisive World Cup Qualifier with Tajikistan

Amman: The national football team faces a critical showdown against Tajikistan on Thursday at 8:30 PM at Amman Stadium, in what promises to be a pivotal clash in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

This match marks the penultimate round of Group Seven competitions, with high stakes for both teams. Saudi Arabia tops the group with 10 points, followed by the national team with 7 points.

Tajikistan trails with 5 points, while Pakistan remains scoreless.

According to tournament regulations, the top two teams from each group advance to the third round of qualifiers.

The national team’s final group stage match is scheduled for next Tuesday against Saudi Arabia in Saudi Arabia. To secure qualification, the national team must clinch a victory against Tajikistan. A draw would complicate their path to the next round, while a defeat would eliminate them from contention.
