The National Political Dialogue’s (NPD) Board of Trustees held its 5th meeting on Monday 5/9/2022 at the National Training Academy in Giza’s 6th of October City.

During the meeting, Head of Egypt’s Journalists Syndicate and NPD General Coordinator Diaa Rashwan reviewed the names of 350 candidates submitted to the NPD technical secretariat for the position of rapporteurs and assistant rapporteurs of the committees concerned with the political, social, and economic tracks, and their 15 subcommittees.

For the political track, the board selected Prof. Ali Eddin Hilal as general rapporteur, while Prof. Ahmed Galal was selected as general rapporteur for the economic track, and Prof. Khaled Abdel Aziz as general rapporteur for the social track.

As for the political track subcommittees, the board selected Prof. Nivine Mosaad as general rapporteur for the human rights and general freedoms committee, Prof. Mohamed Safyeddin Kharboush for the committee on exercising political rights, parliamentary representation, and political parties, and Samir Abdel Wahab for the municipalities committee.

During its next meeting on Saturday September 10, the board will reveal the names of rapporteurs and assistant rapporteurs for the specialized committees and subcommittees of the social and economic tracks.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has called on the National Youth Conference management to carry out a comprehensive political dialogue to set priorities for a national plan of action.

The call, made at an annual “Egyptian Family Iftar” meeting during the holy month of Ramadan in late April, seeks a political dialogue with all national forces “without exception,” with findings to be submitted to the president.
