National Media Office participates in SMX Advanced Europe 2024 conference in Berlin


BERLIN: A delegation from the National Media Office (NMO), headed by Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of NMO and Chairman of the UAE Media Council, is participating in the SMX Advanced Europe 2024 conference in Berlin from 10th to 11th September to discuss recent trends in digital media strategies, search engine optimisation and marketing, and promote innovation in the media sector.

During its participation in the conference, the National Media Office delegation learnt about the latest digital marketing strategies and search engine optimisation techniques, exchanged experiences with a group of international experts and learnt about the latest technologies and advanced ideas in this field. This is to enable the national media to keep pace with global developments and apply the latest innovative solutions that contribute to the development of the media scene in the UAE.

Sheikh Abdulla Al Hamed stressed the UAE’s keenness to use advanced future applications in all sectors, especially th
e media sector, in order to provide high-quality, innovative and interactive media content that enhances communication with local and international audiences. ‘This contributes to the development of the country’s media landscape and achieve the vision of the wise leadership to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global centre for innovation and creativity,’ he said.

He stated that participation in the conference aligns with the National Media Office’s commitment to exploring how advanced technology, particularly generative artificial intelligence, can enhance media development. ‘The goal is to address technical challenges, improve the competitiveness of local media products through data analysis and audience prediction, and increase content efficiency.”

He added that the significance of the SMX Advanced Europe 2024 conference lies in its emphasis on cutting-edge strategies and modern technologies in artificial intelligence. It features in-depth studies and insights on the latest digital marketing innovations
and trends. ‘The conference addresses crucial topics aligned with the UAE’s media efforts to lead the regional media landscape and stay in line with the country’s achievements in various global competitiveness indicators.’

Abdulla Al Hamed and the delegation attended a number of conference sessions, including a session titled ‘AI-Powered Search: Strategies and Tactics for Tomorrow Today’, which addressed the future of research influenced by generative AI.

He also attended a session on search engine optimisation (SEO), which addressed major algorithm updates related to the transformative impact of artificial intelligence, and key strategies for search engines to stay ahead of the curve.

Abdulla Al Hamed attended a session titled ‘Data Privacy Has Come to Stay: Are Established Tracking Practices a Thing From the Past?’ which discussed the evolution of privacy regulations and their impact on online advertising.
