Muslim Council of Elders, Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs discuss enhancing cooperation

Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and member of the Muslim Council of Elders, received the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam.

Judge Abdelsalam conveyed the greetings of His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, along with the greetings of other Council members.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the latest developments in their cooperation regarding the Islamic Dialogue Conference, which is scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain early next year under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The conference will come in response to the important call made by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb at the Bahrain Dialogue Forum which was held in Bahrain in late 2022.

The two sides also emphasised the significance of the dialogue, founded on the broad agreement among Islamic schools o
f thought in areas of belief, thought, and values, recognising that all Muslims belong to one united nation.

They reaffirmed their ongoing and firm commitment, in strategic partnership with major Islamic institutions worldwide, to strengthen the bonds of fraternity and unity among Muslims, promote the foundations of constructive coexistence, uphold authentic and tolerant Islamic values, and counter extremist ideologies, racism, sectarianism, and all forms of discrimination.
