DUBAI: Against the futuristic backdrop of the Museum of the Future Stage, the second day of the 1 Billion Followers summit unfolded into a vibrant mix of ideas, discussions, and revelations.
In a packed auditorium, attendees were treated to an engaging exchange of insights, particularly through two riveting panel discussions that explored the frontiers of ‘edutainment’, and the potential of artificial intelligence (AI).
The Museum of the Future Stage came alive on the second day of the highly anticipated 1 Billion Followers summit as a panel of distinguished content creators, titled “Make Knowledge Pop,” explored the world of edutainment and its role in transforming traditional education into a captivating experience for the digital age.
Featuring Hasan Al Hashim, Ahmed Abouzaid, Abdallah Annan, and Hussain Abdullah, each panelist brought a unique perspective to making knowledge accessible and engaging. Al Hashim, a renowned documentary producer and YouTube sensation with over 4.7 million subscribers, set
the tone by emphasizing the importance of presenting knowledge in an attractive and exciting manner. He stressed the need for storytelling and encouraged creators to use their voice to convey truth and knowledge effectively.
Ahmed Abouzaid, a widely followed digital creator, shared his journey from civil engineer to online educator. Abouzaid stressed the need for simplicity and selectivity in content, ensuring it appeals to a broad audience and provides genuinely beneficial information. “Content is very important and has the ability to reach people who may not otherwise have access to this knowledge,” he added.
Abdallah Annan, the mind behind Science Street and its 14.9 million followers, spoke passionately about combining storytelling with science to capture the attention of young minds. Reflecting on his inspiration from documentaries, Annan reflected on the importance of making educational content entertaining for all audiences.
Hussain Abdullah, a self-taught video creator and animator specializing in
edutainment, discussed his approach to conveying knowledge through animation, comedy, and motivational content. Abdullah aims to produce material that is not only educational and impactful for children but also enjoyable for parents.
Moderated by Mahmoud Ismail, an influential video creator, the panel discussion provided valuable insights for content creators eager to make knowledge pop in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
Following the edutainment panel was “AI Can Do It Better, and It’s Okay,” where industry leaders discussed the ethical considerations, benefits, and boundaries of integrating AI into the creative process.
Moderated by Yousef Abdalbari, a Media Entrepreneur and DubaiTV News Presenter, the session began with an engaging overview of the evolution of technology tools, from calculators to computers, culminating in the emergence of AI.
Dr. Abdulla AlShimmari, CEO and Founder of HCMS.ai and a figure at Core42, emphasized the growing significance of AI in content creation, stating that over
40% of content creators use AI and generative content. He dismissed fears of job loss, highlighting AI as a tool that enhances human creativity. Dr. AlShimmari shared insights into Core42’s advancements in improving “Jais,” the world’s highest quality Arabic Large Language model.
Khaled Zaatarah, founder and CEO of 360VUZ, emphassed the role of AI in enhancing user experiences and announced a collaboration with Apple on their Apple Vision Pro products. The panel collectively underscored the idea that AI is not a threat but a powerful ally for creative minds.
The second day of the 1 Billion Followers summit proved to be a melting pot of ideas, fostering a dialogue on the intersection of many topics including AI and creativity, charting the course for a future where education is accessible in all languages as man and machine collaborate in the pursuit of innovation.
