The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and Safe Sulphur, a Canadian firm specializing in sulphur industry services, inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, to establish a joint plant in the southern city of Aqaba to produce 100,000 tons of Sulphur Bentonite fertilizer annually.

The agreement was signed by Abdul Wahhab Al Rawad, CEO of JPMC, and Patrick Lumley, the managing director of the Canadian firm.

Al Rawad noted that the MoU underscores JPMC’s commitment to expanding its industrial horizon, fostering global partnerships in the arena, and buttressing national initiatives aimed at curtailing unemployment by creating fresh job prospects for the Jordanian population.

In addition, Al Rawad highlighted the Jordanian corporation’s avid interest in broadening and diversifying its global collaborations, thereby enhancing its competitive edge in the regional and international phosphate fertilizer markets.

Lumley, expressing enthusiasm about the partnership with JPMC, extolled the Jordanian firm for its impressive achievements in the realm of phosphate production and industry.
