Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed on Friday attended a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of the Egyptian Business Sustainability Council.

The MoU was signed by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the Orman Association, on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of the Sustainability and Economic Transformations Conference.

The MoU is part of the pioneering role played by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to achieve sustainable development and formulate policies based on measuring impact through effective planning, follow-up and evaluation of government performance, the minister said.

The council will act as an institutional framework that brings together development partners from the government, private sector and civil society in an effort to coordinate and integrate their efforts to achieve sustainable development in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, she added.
