Rabat – Morocco’s House of Councillors Speaker, Enaam Mayara, held talks on Tuesday with Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives, Ahmed Salman Al Musallam, currently visiting Morocco at the top of a large delegation.

Both parties welcomed the sturdiness of the exceptional relations between the two brotherly Kingdoms, based on cooperation, solidarity and mutual respect. According to them, this draws from the strong and close fraternal ties between HM King Mohammed VI and His brother, HM King Hamad bin Issa Al-Khalifa, says a press release from the House of Councillors.

In this regard, Mayara expressed the determination of the Moroccan upper house to work in favor of promoting cooperation between the two legislative bodies in the service of common interests, given the current regional and international challenges.

He also stressed the importance of further developing bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and commercial spheres.

For his part, the Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Repr
esentatives welcomed the solidity of political relations between the two countries, expressing his great admiration for the notable progress made by Morocco in various fields.

He stressed the need to strengthen the economic aspect and benefit from all available opportunities, in line with the aspirations of the Sovereigns of both countries.

Al Musallam further reiterated his country’s consistent position in support of Sahara’s Moroccanness in all regional and international fora.

The Bahraini parliamentary delegation is visiting Morocco to take part in the second edition of Marrakech Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean Region and the Gulf, initiated by the House of Councillors and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) on July 11 and 12 under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Holding the second edition of this forum reflects the commitment of the PAM to strengthening parliamentary cooperation in order to create a more integrated and sustainable economic
and financial area of Euro-Mediterranean countries and Gulf countries, the press release concludes.
