Rabat – Two Royal Navy units intercepted, Sunday 16 km southwest off Dakhla, a pirogue carrying 68 sub-Saharan would-be migrants, including two corpses.
The rescued people, who set sail on August 5 to the Canary Islands, were taken to the port of Dakhla and received the necessary care before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces pointed out in a press release.
The two corpses were delivered to the morgue of the Hassan II hospital in Dakhla by members of the Civil Protection, the same source added.
