Morocco’s Loudyi Holds Talks with Chair of NATO Military Committee

Rabat – On Very High Royal Instructions, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received on Monday at the headquarters of this Administration, in the presence of Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of the Military Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), on a visit to Morocco on April 28-30.

‘This visit to the Kingdom is part of NATO’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with members of the Mediterranean dialogue, with a view to gathering an assessment of the regional security situation and consolidating opportunities for cooperation with the Alliance,’ the National Defense Administration said in a statement.

During the meeting, the officials discussed various aspects of cooperation between NATO and Morocco in the fields of training and capacity building, with a view to ensuring security in the Mediterranean region, the same s
ource added.

The NATO official commended the Kingdom’s multidimensional commitment, as an important player in stability, in the face of the various challenges and issues marking regional security, and its determination, under the aegis and enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him, to conduct reform strategies and to promote the Kingdom as a haven of stability and peace for its Euro-Mediterranean and African neighborhoods, the Administration said.

At the end of the meeting, the officials expressed their shared ambition and willingness to enhance future relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and NATO.

Admiral Bauer will host a conference at the Royal College of Higher Military Education in Kenitra for military officers on the theme of ‘NATO’s perspectives and strategies’, the statement noted.
