Rabat – In a bid to bolster parliamentary cooperation, Morocco’s Lower House Speaker, Rachid Talbi Alami, held talks, on Monday in Rabat, with the President of Brazil’s Federal Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, who is on a working visit in Morocco.

During this meeting, the two sides expressed their will to boost the momentum of Morocco-Brazil parliamentary friendship groups and strengthen bilateral coordination within the framework of multilateral parliamentary ties, the House of Representatives said in a press release.

On this occasion, the President of Brazil’s Federal Senate expressed his admiration for the progress and development achieved by Morocco in several fields, noting that this visit ‘aims to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions, and contribute to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries through efficient parliamentary diplomacy.’

He also noted that the two countries are facing mutual challenges on several fronts, including environment and climate c
hange, calling in this respect, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to participate in the COP30 Summit set to be held next year in Brazil.

The Brazilian official also stressed that Morocco is a distinguished economic partner for Brazil, highlighting the promising opportunities to promote economic, agricultural and touristic cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Talbi Alami welcomed the excellent ties between Morocco and Brazil, who, according to him, share the same values, expressing his thanks and appreciation for Brazil’s position in support of Morocco’s territorial integrity.

The Lower House Speaker also reviewed the the major development projects underway in Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, highlighting the remarkable growth in infrastructure, notably the Tanger-Med Port, and the new Dakhla Atlantic Port which are set to provide a gateway to the African continent, also recalling the development of the agricultural sector, and efforts to address
the negative repercussions of climate change, as well as renewable energy projects, the social protection project and other structuring initiatives.
