Northern Egypt is expecting light to moderate rain next week and strong winds may cause high waves in the Mediterranean and disrupt maritime navigation.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects moderate rain in the northwestern coast, which is home to Matrouh governorate, and northern Lower Egypt on Saturday.
Also, there is a high chance of moderate rain in the northern coast and Lower Egypt on Sunday and a slight chance of light rain in the northern coast and northern Lower Egypt on Monday.
The rainfall and strong winds ranging from 50-70 km/hour can disrupt maritime navigation in the Mediterranean next week, especially on Sunday, with waves expected to reach a height of 2.5-3.5 meters.
Meanwhile, Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coast, and northern Upper Egypt will continue to experience cold weather during daytime, while weather will stay warm in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.
The EMA warns, however, of extremely cold weather during night time and in the early morning nation
wide. Snow may be formed in planted areas in Central Sinai, northern Upper Egypt, and the New Valley governorate in southwestern Egypt.
