Cairo: Ministry of Health and Population has unveiled its medical plan and the free services available for the visitors of the 56th Cairo International Book Fair. The event, held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, will take place from January 24 to February 4, 2025, at the Egypt International Exhibition and Convention Center.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the plan aims to ensure the health and safety of both citizens and visiting delegations, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and the Egyptian General Book Authority. The plan includes the deployment of three ambulances and two ambulance scooters for medical checks both around and inside the exhibition. Additionally, a self-sterilizing vehicle will be used to transport any suspected cases of infectious respiratory diseases, in line with the medical evacuation plan. Coordination with nearby hospitals will ensure proper handling of cases, while the readiness of all surrounding government hospitals will be heightened
.
Furthermore, the plan includes three mobile clinics strategically placed at the exhibition’s entrance corridors, staffed with medical teams specializing in surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. These clinics will also offer blood pressure and diabetes screenings as part of the “President’s Initiative for the Follow-up and Treatment of Chronic Diseases and Early Detection of Kidney Diseases.” The clinics will be equipped with emergency medications, painkillers, and other medical and preventive supplies.
Awareness efforts will be further supported through the display of informational banners and the airing of short educational videos within the exhibition halls.
