Ministers open renovations of Path of Holy Family project in Minya

Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled el Anani opened on Tuesday 26/7/2022 renovation works of the Path of the Holy Family development project in Minya’s Deir Gabal at Teir village.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Minya Governor Osama el Qady, who took the two ministers on an inspection tour of the Church of the Virgin Mary in the area.

Annai said that 25 archaeological sites that the Holy Family passed by and lived in during its three-year-and-a-half journey to Egypt are being renovated as part of the project.

He added that his ministry offered 7.50 million pounds to upgrade services provided for visitors of the Holy Family’s archaeological sites in Minya.

For his part, Shaarawy said that Egypt’s political leadership attaches great importance to the Path of the Holy Family project in all governorates.

He added that the state seeks to develop investment plans to make the optimal use of the areas surrounding this project’s holy sites.

The minister emphasized the importance of the project for the Egyptian economy and sustainable development.

The eight governorates that witnessed the journey of the Holy Family of Jesus Christ are Cairo, Beheira, Sharqiya, Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Minya, Assiut, and North Sinai.
