Minister of State for Military Production Meets Singaporean Ambassador to Discuss Joint Investment Opportunities


Cairo: Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Mustafa, Minister of State for Military Production, received Mr. Dominic Goh, Ambassador of Singapore to Egypt, to discuss the possibility of opening avenues for joint cooperation between military production companies and their Singaporean counterparts in various manufacturing fields. This meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the Government District of the New Administrative Capital.



According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Mohamed Salah began the meeting by welcoming the ambassador and his accompanying delegation, expressing Egypt’s pride in the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, and affirming Egypt’s commitment to enhancing these relations and expanding them into broader horizons.



During the meeting, the Minister of State for Military Production reviewed the manufacturing, technological, technical, and human capabilities of the military production companies and units, which form the cornerstone of military manufacturing in Egypt. He pointed out that the companies affiliated with the ministry are an important contributor to the national industry by utilising surplus production capacities to participate in the implementation of numerous national and developmental projects in the country. This is done within an integrated and unique operational system, as the ministry oversees 15 industrial companies and 4 specialised companies in other fields, including a company for information systems, another for construction, as well as a maintenance company, a research arm for scientific and technological excellence, and a training sector, along with a medical centre, testing grounds for ammunition and weapons, and an academy for engineering and advanced technology.



Regarding economic cooperation, Minister Mohamed Salah expressed the Egyptian government’s welcome towards the increase in Singaporean investments in Egypt in recent times, as Singapore has become the fifth largest Asian investor in Egypt. He emphasised the state’s interest in encouraging foreign investments and highlighting the promising investment and commercial opportunities offered by the Egyptian market, indicating the ministry’s aspiration to open fields for joint cooperation between the Ministry of Military Production’s companies and their Singaporean counterparts in the field of military and civilian manufacturing.



For his part, Mr. Dominic Goh, the Ambassador of Singapore to Cairo, praised the role of the Ministry of Military Production in providing the Egyptian Armed Forces with ammunition, weapons, advanced equipment, and electronic systems produced according to the latest manufacturing technologies. He confirmed that many Singaporean companies are eager to cooperate with military production companies, given their distinguished manufacturing and technical capabilities and their vital role in deepening and localising modern technologies across various production fields, considering them one of the most important industrial arms in Egypt. He expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Military Production to establish fruitful strategic cooperative partnerships in both military and civilian sectors with various global companies and entities.
