Roger Barro, Minister of Environment and Water in Burkina Faso, said that the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) is the most important event to develop innovative solutions to adapt to climate change, especially in developing countries.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during his participation in COP28 in Expo City Dubai, the Minister of Environment and Water of Burkina Faso called on the international community to make strong decisions that would change the lives of communities in the South, including the African continent.
He pointed out that the Loss and Damage Fund is a ‘lifeline for all developing communities’, including his country.
At COP28 in Dubai, 25 ministers from developing countries signed the COP28 UAE Declaration on a Global Climate Finance Framework and the establishment of a unified financing method for the United Nations Capital Development Fund.
